Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Hi there!

Today I wore what is now a tradition for me- a mint and black manicure...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint.
Splatter Manicure.

With regard to mint chocolate chip ice cream, it kind of looks like the chocolate exploded on my nails... but I don't care. I look at my manicure and I remember my silly dog and his crazy love of the stuff

Puppy Nails

Hi there!

Remember Buddy? Yesterday was a year since he went to puppy heaven, so I painted these nails for him...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint.
Stamped with H21.

He loved everything mint. It was pretty funny how excited he would get whenever we would open our freezer for mint chocolate chip ice cream. He knew the spoon would always be his :-)

I miss ya, little guy

I Miss Buddy

Hi there!

I've really been missing Buddy lately...

This is one of my favorite videos of him and Bandit playing with one another. Aren't they sweet? I especially love 58-59 seconds into it. He was always cute like that ♥

So Cute

Hi there!

I bought my dog a new squeaky toy last night and she's been tromping around with it non-stop...

Now she's pooped... and snoring! Cute, right!?

I just had to show you :-)

Until next time...

I Have a Gripe

Hi there!

We took our dog to the dog park and this pitbull ran up on her and completely started attacking her. It kept barking and trying to bite her. Luckily, she has experience with rough dogs. She treated that dog like she treated our dog, Buddy, who we lost last month due to complications from epilepsy. She used her weight (95 lbs) and her paws to push it away from her.

The owner didn't do or say a thing! The lady just stood there and watched. I was shocked! My husband and I were able to keep that dog away from ours so we could inspect her. Thankfully, she wasn't bitten. Before we could get back to our walk, that dog was already attacking another dog. The woman just stood there and once her dog was done, she tapped him on the nose and said, "no" in a soft voice like you might speak to a child. I was speechless! It attacked one more dog before the lady put it on a leash. Even while leashed, it tried to attack another dog and its owner.

Am I unreasonable for thinking that some people should not be taking their dogs to dog parks? And for thinking that if they do, they should know when to leave?

Until next time...

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream for Buddy

Hi there!

Some of you may have already read that we lost our puppy, Buddy, this past week.

His favorite treat was mint chocolate chip ice cream (minus the chocolate). He went nuts everytime I opened the freezer. He also loved my peppermint chapstick.

I was inspired by him ♥

I used China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint for the base coat and a layer of OPI's black shatter over the top. I used Seche Vite's top coat.

Seche Vite, China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint, and OPI - Black Shatter.

Here's the final result!

My nails painted with China Glaze -
Re-Fresh Mint and OPI - Black Shatter.

It makes me smile when I look at my nails.

As far as the application goes, the green went on quite streakily. I used 2 coats and left it at that because I anticipated hiding it with the black shatter.

What food would you like to be inspired by?

Until next time...

Buddy

Hey everyone.

My husband and I have been going through an extremely rough time this past week. We had to make a decision that nobody ever wants to make.

Our little boy, Buddy, is epileptic. He's suffered seizures since we first adopted him. We wouldn't dare take him back or give up on him, so we decided to give him the best life he could possibly have; one that 2 other families before us decided against.

He's been on several medications, and those worked... initially. Only recently have his seizures become more frequent. 3 times a day just isn't fair to him. One of the medications makes him dizzy, so he sometimes loses his balance. It also gives him nightmares :*(

He's kind of turned into a grumpy old man. There are moments when the puppy in him shines bright, but those moments aren't as often as he deserves. He's just under 2 years and 4 months old. It's just so hard to admit that he's not happy. We love him so much.

Our Buddy ♥

He's a ham. He loves having his picture taken. Here he is with our 4 year old puppy, Bandit...

They love each other.

Tomorrow will be our last day with him :*(

To anyone who may come across this blog post: please pray for us. And Buddy. And Bandit. Though I know she remembers loving the time when she was an only child, she's grown to love him, too. She's extremely smart. She became an alert dog for his seizures. Anytime he starts having one, she barks. She has watched my husband and I enough to see the way we hold him when he has a seizure. She learned how to keep him from banging into things by putting her front paws and her weight around him. I know she knows that something is wrong. I've been in tears all week. I don't want her to be depressed.

Please pray that Buddy isn't scared. I hope he knows how much we love him. And I really hope it's true that all dogs go to Heaven. He's a sweetheart.

I'll leave this post by saying that Buddy will always be loved and never be forgotten.

I love you, Buddy Roo. You're such a good boy ♥
