49ers Crackle

Hi there!

I'm a member of a very superstitious household. It wasn't extreme until recently when Hunny Poo realized that every time I paint my nails with San Francisco 49ers colors, they win. When I don't, they lose/tie. This has held true all season! After I removed my nearly 2 week old manicure on Sunday, I was begged to paint Niners nails. I told him that if he chose the polish, I'd do it :-)

My nails painted with Zoya - Kimmy and China Glaze - Tarnished Gold.
San Francisco 49ers manicure.

I think he chose a nice combination. I painted 2 coats of Kimmy before adding a thin coat of Tarnished Gold. Once dry, I added a coat of OPI's top coat.

Mission: accomplished. The Niners won!

Until next time...

Shatter The Scales For Audrey

Hi there!

I'm enjoying this combination...

My nails painted with China Glaze - For Audrey and OPI - Shatter the Scales.

I painted 2 coats of For Audrey, 1 coat of Shatter the Scales, and 1 coat of Seche Vite to achieve what's pictured. I wanted to wear Shatter the Scales without it looking "Christmas-y," and I think this works! For Audrey seems to bring out more teal than green from Shatter the Scales.

What would you wear/have you worn Shatter the Scales with?

Neon Pink and Green Crackle

Hi there!

I haven't worn crackle/shatter polish in quite some time, so today is a good day for it...

My nails painted with Color Club - Jackie Oh! and Pure Ice - Shattered.

I painted 2 coats of Jackie Oh! before applying a coat of Shattered to achieve what's pictured. I added a coat of Seche Vite over the top. The crackle polish pulled some of the pink polish away from my cuticle... I'm not sure if it's because I didn't let the pink dry completely- although, I'm pretty sure I did :-/ Anyway, my camera had a tough time capturing just how bright this manicure is- it's much brighter in person!

Have you tried any of the Pure Ice Crackles? How do you like them?

Until next time...

Patriotic Week - Day 2

Hi there!

I'm not too excited about how this one turned out...

My nails painted with China Glaze - First Mate and Hey Sailor.
Topped with China Glaze - Lightning Bolt Crackle.
Patriotic 4th of July manicure.

Before I get into the overall look, I must say that First Mate and Hey Sailor were both awesome to work with. I painted only 1 coat of each, and they were perfectly opaque.

I'm uncertain if it's just a bad picture or if this manicure really does look bad. A possible first mistake: I must not have let the red polish fully dry, because it seems to have mixed with the white and made a light pink crackle... though, that may be the result of this mistake: I took the picture outside under direct sunlight and my fingers look like they're glowing.

I suppose it isn't terrible. After all, I'm just playing around with ideas for what I want to wear next week :-)

Pink Papaya Punch

Hi there!

What an awesome weekend! I was able to enjoy beautiful weather and I got a lot accomplished. We've been landscaping our backyard and it's turning out quite nicely. I chopped my nails off a few days ago so they wouldn't slow me down and/or get broken...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Papaya Punch and
China Glaze - Broken Hearted Crackle.

The sun was shining so brightly that I wasn't able to capture a decent picture of my full manicure. I figure that a picture of one good finger is better than a picture of 5 so-so fingers, right?

Anyway, I painted 2 thick coats of Papaya Punch for it to be opaque and streak-free. It's gorgeous on its own, but with the Broken Hearted Crackle... well, I stared at my nails A LOT this weekend! It's most definitely an eye-popping manicure.

Here's Papaya Punch on its own...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Papaya Punch.

Papaya Punch is the only polish I have from the Island Escape collection. After this manicure, I'm tempted to obtain the rest of them! Do you own any polishes from this collection? What are your thoughts?

A Shattered Space Case

Hi there!

Instead of removing them, I like to add to manicures when I feel they've run their course...

My nails painted with Color Club - Space Case and OPI - Black Shatter.

The glitter barely shines through, but I think the pink looks pretty against the black.

Until next time...

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream for Buddy

Hi there!

Some of you may have already read that we lost our puppy, Buddy, this past week.

His favorite treat was mint chocolate chip ice cream (minus the chocolate). He went nuts everytime I opened the freezer. He also loved my peppermint chapstick.

I was inspired by him ♥

I used China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint for the base coat and a layer of OPI's black shatter over the top. I used Seche Vite's top coat.

Seche Vite, China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint, and OPI - Black Shatter.

Here's the final result!

My nails painted with China Glaze -
Re-Fresh Mint and OPI - Black Shatter.

It makes me smile when I look at my nails.

As far as the application goes, the green went on quite streakily. I used 2 coats and left it at that because I anticipated hiding it with the black shatter.

What food would you like to be inspired by?

Until next time...
