Decent Deal Alert

Hi there!

I've taken part in a few deals from Plum District in the past where I've been able to purchase a mixture of 5 bottles of OPI and Zoya for just $14! There is another deal going on right now... it isn't for OPI or Zoya- but for the brand Sheswai (or any other product on Beauty Sage)... they retail for $16 each.

The deal today isn't as amazing, but it's $22.50 (add $7.95 for shipping) for $50 worth of product.

1. Sign up here: https://www.plumdistrict.com/?ref=uf885a704bfc

2. Once you've signed up, search for "Everywhere" deals. There will be a bloom.com deal that says it costs $30 for $50 worth of product at Beauty Sage. Click on it, and then click "Make it Mine."

3. Apply the promotion code FLASH31 toward your purchase.

4. In a new browser, browse beautysage.com

5. Add $50 worth of product to your cart.

6. Use the voucher code that Plum District gave you in the promotion code section on beautysage.com at checkout. You can find this code by clicking on "My Account" and choosing "Purchased Offers."

And that'll be it :-)

I'd love to know if you use this deal... what products did you choose? I chose 3 bottles of nail polish- Badass, Stoked, and Sugarkiss.

Until next time...

Zoya - Kristen

Hi there!

This one is crazy...

My nails painted with Zoya - Kristen.

I painted 2 coats to achieve what's pictured. It applied easily and all that good stuff- what I think is crazy about it is how it looks so different depending on the lighting. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes purple, and sometimes grey. Sometimes it's a mix of all 3 colors...

My nails painted with Zoya - Kristen.

I didn't expect to like this polish based on what it looked like in the bottle. It looked kind of bland... I had never even seen swatches of it before writing this post. But I'm glad to say I'm pleasantly pleased :-)

Do you own a polish that surprised you because you didn't expect to like it based on the bottle?

My Updated Nail Polish Storage

Hi there!

Over the past year, my most popularly visited blog post was that of my nail polish storage... so I figured I'd show how it looks a year later...

My nail polish rack/storage/shelf/collection.

As you can see, it's changed a bit... and the collection has surely expanded :-) Each regular shelf can hold 2 rows of polish, while the bottom shelf can hold 3 rows.

I keep my mini sets up top, and then I try to organize the full sized bottles by color. I purchased the plastic baskets on the bottom to hold glitter polish, crackle/shatter polish, nude polish, and all of my Julep polish. I keep black and white polish in a 3-drawer unit to the left of the doorway. I also keep untried polish, polish I'm unsure about, and top coats/base coats/treatments/etc. in the unit.

I currently have 12 mini sets on top, roughly 495 bottles of polish on the 13 regular shelves, and about 106 bottles of polish spread throughout the baskets on the bottom shelf.

This rack is still as strong as ever. There are 4 support bars in the back so the sides don't cave in... and it's secured to the wall. I've never had a problem with any of the bottles falling to the floor- not even with my 95 pound dog. She's pretty dang well behaved! It's tough to see in the picture, but I have little pieces of wood at the front of each regular shelf... that also helps to keep each polish in its place.

There aren't any plans for how to build the shelf. I simply told hunny poo the measurements and spacing that I wanted, and he built it for my Birthday :-)

How do you organize your polish? A shoebox? That's how I stored mine before this baby came into my life! Do you organize yours by brand or color? I'd love to see a picture!

Until next time...

Sally Hansen - Save the Date

Hi there!

How pretty is this!? ...

My nails painted with Sally Hansen - Save the Date.

I painted 2 coats to achieve what's pictured. It applied beautifully and dried quickly. I don't know what else to say about it other than I really, really like it :-)

Look at the shimmer...

Sally Hansen - Save the Date.

I wasn't expecting to like Save the Date as much as I do based on the swatches I've seen of it... but I suppose you never know until you try for yourself :-)

Do you have a polish that you didn't expect to like until putting it on your nails changed your mind?

Until next time...

Neon Pink and Green Crackle

Hi there!

I haven't worn crackle/shatter polish in quite some time, so today is a good day for it...

My nails painted with Color Club - Jackie Oh! and Pure Ice - Shattered.

I painted 2 coats of Jackie Oh! before applying a coat of Shattered to achieve what's pictured. I added a coat of Seche Vite over the top. The crackle polish pulled some of the pink polish away from my cuticle... I'm not sure if it's because I didn't let the pink dry completely- although, I'm pretty sure I did :-/ Anyway, my camera had a tough time capturing just how bright this manicure is- it's much brighter in person!

Have you tried any of the Pure Ice Crackles? How do you like them?

Until next time...

Spoiled - Orange You Glad

Hi there!

I think I'm in love with this polish...

My nails painted with Spoiled - Orange You Glad?

I painted 2 coats to achieve what's pictured. The formula was just perfect! It's much more sparkly and awesome in person with a yellow/light orange shimmer. I've got to say this has to be my favorite Spoiled polish that I've tried so far.

Do you own/will you be purchasing this one?

Until next time...

Patriotic Week - Day 7

Hi there!

Wonder Woman, anyone?

My nails painted with China Glaze - Frostbite and Red Pearl.
Stamped with Konad image plate M3.
Patriotic 4th of July Wonder Woman nails.

I painted 2 coats of Frostbite, then added a thick coat of Red Pearl to my tips. I stamped the stars with Nicole by OPI's Positive Energy and then topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Patriotic Week - Day 6

Hi there!

I should have done this manicure yesterday for Ugly Manicure Monday...

Patriotic 4th of July nail foil manicure.

Blech! These are a generic brand of foils that I found on eBay for about $0.25, so at least I'm not out much money :-) I followed the directions of the package, but these foils just weren't meant for my nails. I think they'd work great for someone with large nail beds... and I mean large- not just larger than my own. I read before that it's best to start with the smallest finger first, so I started with my pinky. I've got to admit... I gave up on this manicure after my ring finger, so I didn't trim the middle or index finger's foils. And I didn't bother with more than 4 fingers. I knew that once I photographed it, it would all be removed. On the plus side, they were easy to remove!

Patriotic Week - Day 5

Hi there!

Now this is something that anyone can do...

My nails painted with Julep - Marisa, Salma, and America.
Patriotic 4th of July manicure.

I painted 2 coats of Marisa, 1 coat of Salma, and a thick coat of America to achieve what's pictured. They all applied as expected :-)

Based on the promotional pictures of America, I expected to see silver stars among the glitter. My bottle had none, but I still think it's a pretty polish. If you received America, does your bottle have silver stars?

Patriotic Week - Day 4

Hi there!

I simply couldn't go through a week of ideas without a water marble...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Hey Sailor, Sky High-Top,
and NYC - French White Tip. Water marble.
Patriotic 4th of July manicure.

I painted 1 coat of French White Tip and then water marbled with all 3 colors. This manicure was tough to achieve- the weather isn't the best, and it was rather cold in my house... so the polish didn't want to spread in the water. The design pictured is really the best I could do!

If you end up trying a red, white, and blue water marble, I'd love to know which polish you chose and if they worked well together. Better yet, I'd love to see a picture :-)
